Shingo Masuda is a qanoon player and composer from Osaka, Japan.

After his return to Japan he refined the technique of qanoon and the knowledge of maqam music from the Arabic and Turkish tradition and gained practical experience with professional musicians on study trips to Tunisia, Turkey and Greece.
In 2017 he moved to Berlin and played with various band formations there, as in Japan.
In September 2019 he won first prize with the band Japal at the 2nd Creole Contest, a world music band competition in Berlin.
